Position Summary :
As the instrumentation & electrical technician you will provide maintenance craft specific support to plants. You will maintain and repair all types of equipment within craft knowledge and expertise. You will participate on the maintenance team which supports reliability improvement across all Operations facilities in the Plastics Organization. This will require full proficiency in a range of technical, operational, or analytical/scientific processes and procedures through job-related training and considerable on the job experience to perform a variety of work assignments. You will act as an informal resource for team members with less experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Enables the people who manage and/or perform work in the field with the tools and information needed to perform their job effectively and efficiently.
- Requires full proficiency in a range of technical, operational, or analytical/scientific processes and procedures through job-related training and considerable on the job experience to perform a variety of work assignments.
- Performs troubleshooting of instrumentation, electrical, and automation controls for manufacturing equipment.
- Performs repairs and preventative maintenance associated with instrumentation, electrical, and automation controls.
- Acts as an informal resource for team members with less experience.
- Reviews and manages the inspections due for assigned unit
- Participates in assigned unit updates and planning meetings to be aware of unit needs and priorities. Participates in the Management of Change process
- Provides day-to-day and occasional off-hour inspection support to the plant
- Participates in unit shutdowns by supplying inspection scopes along with repair scopes
- Participates in unit day to day maintenance by supplying inspection scopes along with repair scopes
- Participate in Root Cause Investigations (RCI’s)
- Make facility walkthroughs/assessments of equipment.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This position will oversee projects, repairs and modifications .
- This position will serve as a resource relief to the Maintenance Manager periodically.
Experience and Qualifications : The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- One of the following is required
- A minimum of an Associates degree or 4 or more years of military experience and 6+ years of electrical maintenance, manufacturing or other related experience.
- A minimum of a high school diploma or GED and 8+ years of experience electrical maintenance, manufacturing or other related experience.
- A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Work Environment, Schedule, and Physical Demands :
The work environment is on the plant floor. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud and we do expect members to wear issued personal protective equipment (PPE) including hearing protection while on the plant floor and other required areas.
We have a 24/7 process operation. The work schedule for this position will be
- Monday thru Friday 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM
- Schedule is subject to change to meet production needs
This position will require the following physical demands.
- There will be moderate lifting - up to 50 pounds,
- Continually required to : lift and/or move up to 15 pounds, stand for several hours at a time, talk, or hear, work near moving mechanical parts, exposure to extreme heat or cold (non-weather), thermal conditions may exceed outdoor air temperatures at times,
- Frequently required to : lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, walk, required to utilize hand and finger dexterity, climb balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl; exposure to wet and/or humid conditions (non-weather),
- Occasionally required to: lift and/or move 50 pounds, sit, work around fumes, airborne particles (below permissible exposure limits), work in high, precarious places, exposure to outside weather conditions, thermal conditions may exceed outdoor air temperatures at times.
- While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually loud to very loud at 85-100dB. Hearing protection is always required when on the plant floor.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Specialized equipment, machines, or vehicles used: may require the ability to operate a forklift, skid steer, mini excavator, and aerial work platforms (Scissor Lift and Boom Lift). The company will provide equipment operator training as required for the position.
- Must complete and pass OSHA’s requirements for forklift certification (powered industrial truck) training as outlined in 29 CFR 1910.178 within required plant management timeframe (usually within 4 weeks of start date).
