Job Title: Marketing and Communication Manager
Reports To: Chief Growth Officer (CGO)
Position Type: Full-time, exempt (nights and weekends as needed)
Salary Range: $42,000-52,000 DOE

Job Description:
The Marketing and Communication Manager plays a key role in advancing the mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities New Mexico (RMHC-NM) by supporting the development and implementation of strategic communication, branding, and marketing efforts. This individual will help increase public awareness, community engagement, donor relations, and program visibility through compelling storytelling across multi-channel outreach.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Draft, edit, and publish content for newsletters, blog posts, press releases, donor communications, and program updates across channels.
  • Manage and update website content, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational brand using Word Press.
  • Develop and implement social media strategies to engage target audiences and grow online presence.
  • Create and schedule social media content across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Monitor and respond to online engagement and track analytics for reporting.
  • Ensure consistent use of brand voice, visual identity, and messaging across all channels. Experience with brand transitions is preferred.
  • Design marketing materials (flyers, brochures, graphics) using Canva.
  • Support planning and promotion of events, fundraising campaigns, and public outreach initiatives.
  • Assist in developing campaign materials and coordinating communications across platforms.
  • Build and maintain media lists; help pitch stories to local and national outlets.
  • Draft and distribute press releases and media advisories.
  • Track and analyze engagement metrics and report findings to inform future strategies.
  • Maintain mailing lists and communication records in the CRM and Mailchimp.
  • Design and maintain internal communication materials, including flyers, signage, and branded templates to ensure consistency and clarity across departments.
  • Develop and distribute a regular internal newsletter to keep staff informed of organizational updates, key initiatives, and employee engagement opportunities.
Ancillary Job Functions
  • Maintain positive and cooperative relationships with all staff, volunteers, donors, and stakeholders.
  • Respect the privacy and confidentiality of all guests, donors, and community partners of RMHC-NM.
  • In all instances, serves as an ambassador for the RMHC-NM, appropriately communicating the mission and purpose of the organization.
  • Demonstrate respect for diverse cultures and ability to work and interact with all types of people.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the CGO.
  • Stay abreast of current trends, bringing fresh ideas to the conversation.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1–3 years of experience in a communications or marketing role, preferably in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience with content management systems (e.g., WordPress), email marketing tools, and social media platforms.
  • Basic graphic design and video editing skills are a plus.
  • Familiarity with analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, social media insights).
  • Knowledge of fundraising and donor communication best practices.
Work Environment
  • Primary work will be conducted in an office setting and at event venues.
  • Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds may be required.
  • Flexibility is necessary, including availability for evening and weekend work as needed.
  • RMHC-NM operates 24/7 to support families, and occasional non-traditional hours may be required.
