Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on payroll professional who enjoys complex, full-cycle payroll work across multiple companies and unions. You’ll be part of a collaborative, long-tenured payroll team and play a key role in system conversion, salaried/corporate payroll ownership, and union dues processing. If you’ve been involved in at least one payroll system conversion and enjoy process improvement, this role offers both challenge and stability in a mission-driven environment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Own the full-cycle payroll for salaried exempt and corporate hourly staff; assist with weekly union payroll processing and dues payments.
  • Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, perform audits, and update work instructions to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Generate and maintain complex payroll reports (e.g., taxes, earnings, deductions, union-related reporting) using Excel and payroll software tools.
  • Support payroll system conversion initiatives, including GL mapping, integrations, parallel testing, and process documentation.
  • Collaborate with HR, IT, and accounting teams to implement process improvements and provide mentorship within the payroll team.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full-cycle payroll experience, ideally with exposure to payroll system conversions.
  • Strong understanding of payroll principles, wage and hour laws, garnishments, and reporting tools; union and multi-company payroll experience a plus.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, etc.) and experience using more than one payroll system.
  • CPP or FPC certification preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and cross-functionally.

This hybrid position requires an onsite presence the Vancouver / Camas area - local or relocating candidates only, please.

Benefits

Benefits are available to eligible full-time employees and include coverage for medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, and a matching 401 (k) plan.
