The DNA Encoded Library team (Discovery Chemistry) within our company's Research Labs (Rahway, NJ) is seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Fellow with expertise in organic chemistry, peptide synthesis, reaction development/methodology, and a strong interest in target-based hit screening and drug discovery. The successful candidate will use a combination of chemical and biochemical techniques to study functionalization strategy for DNA encoded macrocyclic libraries.

The postdoctoral fellow will work in close collaboration with chemists and biochemists across our company's network to execute a research project with the goal of publishing the results in peer-reviewed journals. Responsibilities include:
  • Design and develop functionalization strategy for DNA encoded macrocyclic libraries.
  • Conduct experiments in lab and collect analytical data.
  • Reaction condition optimization and including scope studies.
  • Characterization of on-DNA conjugates
  • Profiling of on-DNA conjugate using a range of biochemical and biophysical assays.
  • Perform property and diversity analysis of the DNA encoded library using informatics tools.
  • Sharing of knowledge through attending internal and external scientific conferences
  • Write and submit publications to peer-reviewed journals.

Position Qualifications :

Education Minimum Requirement: Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field or completed within the next year.

Required Experience and Skills:
  • Ph.D. degree in chemistry, biochemistry or related field
  • Demonstrated experience in a broad range of activities for organic synthesis, methodology studies, reaction development including sample preparation, characterization and data analysis.
  • Experience in peptide synthesis and DNA encoded library platform is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, presentation, and oral)
  • Ability to work effectively and flexibly within timelines.
  • Ability to manage a multifaceted project.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare peer-reviewed publications.

Intended training and mentoring in one or more of the following fields during the Post-doc:
  • Experimental design and reaction development in the field of DNA encoded libraries
  • On-DNA conjugate characterization methods
  • Biochemical reactions and assays
  • Use of computational tools for DNA encoded library design and property prediction.

Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate's relevant skills, experience, and education.

Expected salary range:

$75,000.00-$86,000.00
