- Datacentre Operations and Management, WAN Networking, MPLS, BGP, VRF, Wireless, POTS, Optical Network, Coloured / Dark Fiber, Switched Ethernet (EPL, EVPL,EP-LAN,EVP-LAN), VLANs, EoSDH, E1/T1 Lines, AWS Cloud, SD WAN.
- Design, Deployment, and modification of WAN circuits [eg; MPLS, BGP, VRF, VOIP, Wireless, POTS, Switched Ethernet (EPL, EVPL, EP-LAN, EVP-LAN), EoSDH, VLANs, E1/T1 Lines, SD WAN].
- Proficient in establishing Layer 1 physical connection and setting parameter and protocols for Layer 2 and Layer 3 devices.
- Expert in provisioning of services like VRF, L2/L3 VPNs, IPsec, LLF, VPN, Intelligent WAN, SD WAN, VOIP, 4G, SWE, VLANs, EoSDH, leased lines, X connects, dedicate private lines.
- Good experience / knowledge of routing protocols like EIGRP/OSPF/BGP/IS-IS/MPLS/MP-BGP/L2-L3VPN.
- Provide Network Design Engineering services in support of a global customers network.
- Experienced in preparing specifications to define and illustrate network designs and configurations.
- Design network solution architecture and implementation documentation (customer and operational).
- Perform design integration for complex, cross-functional systems and lead technical design reviews of various infrastructure projects.
- Function as a high-level technical resource and think out of box to resolving complex scenarios.
- Provide design, implementation and consultation service for technological solution, provisioning, network equipment and infrastructure.
- Develop network designs and cost models for customer specific opportunities and present to product and contract management teams.
- Coordinate Project delivery with stakeholders, customers and vendors and ensure end to end delivery within agreed timelines.
- Define and follow standards and best practices for network design, testing, and implementation methodology.
- Review the network design and bill of material with project manager and peer network engineers.
- Coordinate schedules, tasks, resources, and manage dependencies for design projects.
- Design WAN infrastructure & Remote Connectivity to sites for customer.
- Support in documenting process and procedures for future reference and trainings.
- Training the peers on end-to-end network designs and operating procedures.
- Participate in on-call rotation and execute evening & weekend changes, as agreed within team.
Responsibilities
- Complete end-to-end design and implementation of telecom connectivity solutions globally.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders / LOBs to thoroughly understand their network connectivity and bandwidth requirements.
- Capture project requirements (technical specifications, service type, delivery timelines, budget, approvals etc) and document scope of work.
- Based on the requirements, issue RFP to carriers for connectivity proposals
- Review carrier technical and commercial offerings and select the best suitable bid.
- Develop solution that meets customer standards for diversity, resiliency and performance.
- Highlight SPOF issues, risks, challenges to relevant stakeholders on time.
- Document design and justification, recommendations and cost models.
- Present telecom design solutions to Product Owners and seek approval.
- Handle changes (BOW) as per customer standards and within delivery scope.
- Review the test results and validate if the outputs meet the customer expectations.
- Overall end-to-end responsibility for delivery and support arrangement.
- Attend project meetings and provide regular updates to customer and stakeholders.
- Handle delivery pressure from customer and project managers.
- Manage carriers / partners to deliver the necessary capacity on-time and on-budget.
