Location: Hybrid – NYC Metro Area Only (Candidate must currently reside in the NYC metro area)
Contract Type: Consultant (Contract)

Are you a data-driven problem solver with a passion for leveraging the full power of Azure? We’re seeking a dynamic Azure Data Engineer to join our team on a consultant basis and drive mission-critical data solutions in a hybrid role based in New York City .

This is a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge Azure tools and collaborate with talented professionals on enterprise-level data engineering, analytics, and governance. If you’re experienced in Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Power BI, and cloud-based architecture—and thrive in fast-paced, high-impact environments—this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities Azure Platform Engineering

• Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipeline using Azure Data Factory, Databriks, Data Lake, and Power BI
• Works with services like Azure SQL Database , Synapse Analytics , COSMOS DB , and Azure ML
• Build scalable, secure, and efficient data integration and processing workflows
• Strong SQL skills are essential; experience with .NET/C# is a plus

Data Architect & Engineering

• Implement and maintain modern data solutions using Azure Cloud Services
• Optimize ETL processes and manage the end-to-end flow of enterprise data
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business intelligence and analytics initiatives

Security on Azure Platform

• Apply best practices in identity and access management, description, network security, and serverless architecture security
• Ensure robust compliance with internal and external data security requirements

Data Governance & Compliance

• Define and implement data governance frameworks
• Oversee data quality , ownership , privacy , lineage , and metadata management
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements 

This is an hourly position with opportunity for overtime.

Mandatory Qualifications:  (Please read carefully. They  MUST  be shown on your resume)

• Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake
• Power BI Report Server
• Python
• Strong SQL and scripting skills
• Proven ability to interpret, modify, and write SQL queries and scripts
• Hands-on experience managing data pipelines and building visualizations

Certifications:

• Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate ( Required )
• Azure Certifications such as: 
  ○ Azure Security Engineer Associate
  ○ Azure Solutions Architect Expert
• Databricks Machine Learning Certificate ( Preferred )

Nice to have :

• 3+ years of experience with SQL stored procedures
• Familiarity with .NET C# development
